Welcome To Gosforth Frolf
Frolf (better known as disc golf) is a sport that has taken off in a big way across the pond. It's a fun activity for all the family and best of all it is free! For this reason it is quite surprising that very few people have heard of it in the UK. We are here to do our best to change that (in Newcastle at least). We are very happy to announce that we have stumbled upon a pre-made frisbee golf course in the woods near North Gosforth's "Bridle Path". After walking past painted strips on trees in the woods and always wondering what they were for, it was not until visiting the USA on holiday that we discovered "disc golf" and put two and two together (we wouldn't put paint on trees now, would we?) The USA seemed to have free courses in every town and now Newcastle has one too! This course does not have the official disc golf baskets required by a professional course so it uses markings on trees as the targets. This works extremely well and is a brilliant compromise at zero cost. The course is heavily wooded, making it not just a challenge for beginners and seasoned players alike but also an exploration goldmine. This is partially why we will refer to the course as a "frolf course" rather than a "disc golf course" as it is smaller but more wooded than a traditional course. If you ever fancy doing something a bit different and love a hike/adventure why not come down and have a game on our course for free? Everything you need to know can be found on the various pages linked above. Come along and play today - if you don't like it we'll give you your money back!
